NCAA announces Notice of Allegations against CSC

The Nebraska State College System announced Monday that a Notice of Allegations has been issued following an investigation by Chadron State College and the NCAA enforcement staff regarding the CSC football program.

The Notice of Allegations was expected and follows the submission of CSC's self report in July. It alleges potential violations which were identified during the inquiry into the athletic policies and practices of the football program. Following an internal review of the material, the Notice of Allegations should be available online today, Sept. 18, at the Chadron State College website and the Nebraska State College system website:
http://www.nscs.edu.

Chadron State College will thoroughly review the allegations in order to submit a written response to the Notice of Allegations. The response to the NCAA is due by Dec. 17. A hearing by the Committee on Infractions is tentatively scheduled during its meeting on Feb. 22-24, 2013. At that time, representatives from Chadron State will appear before the committee to present an institutional response to the Notice of Allegations. A specific date and time will be announced at a later date.

NSCS Chancellor Stan Carpenter said that the system and the college will continue to cooperate with the NCAA to resolve this matter.

“I am confident in the new leadership of the football program at Chadron. Coach Jay Long and we will restore Chadron's good standing with the NCAA and continue the football program's strong tradition of success.”
