2018 Outlook:
2017: Battled an injury but appeared in three of final four games...finished season with six completions on 12 attempts for 50 yards
2016: Started three games but exited just after the half in two of them due to a lingering injury ... received a medical redshirt 
2015: Stein was the starting quarterback headed into the season, and received four starts before suffering a hand injury which limited his ability to throw ... in nearly four complete games, completed 61 of 115 passes for 648 yards and one score ... added 54 yards rushing ... Completed 65.4 percent of his passes in his college debut at Missouri S&T, where he threw for 206 yards and one touchdown
2014: Redshirted during his first season at CSC.
High School: A three-year starter at quarterback for the Cardinals, and emerged as the school's all-time passing yards leader with 314 completions in 604 attempts for 4,573 yards and 46 touchdowns … As a senior in 2013, he completed 89 of 179 passes for 1,463 yards and 18 TDs while also carrying 85 times for 360 yards and seven TDs … Received honorable mention all-state as both a junior and a senior
Personal: Son of Chris and Nancy Stein … Has four siblings named Kassi, Karyssa, Kendra and Madi … maternal grandfather, Gil Nitsch of Chadron, was a three-year letterman (1962-64) and father Chris also was a Chadron High quarterback who became an outstanding tight end for the Eagles (1986-89), eventually inducted into the CSC Athletics Hall of Fame … uncle, Kevin, also starred at QB for the Cardinals and played that position four years at CSC ... grandfather Dick Stein, was the head football coach at Chadron for 21 seasons and retired with a 144-71 record.
