Biography
2014: After being groomed as a multi-events athlete last year, he informed the coaches this year that he does not care for the hurdles or the pole vault and will run the longer sprints and high jump.
2013: Showed lots of promise during the indoor season, particularly in the high jump, where he had a team-best mark of 6-6 ¾…Placed seventh in the heptathlon at the RMAC Indoor Meet with 4,039 points and had the best marks in both the high jump (6-5 ½) and the 1,000 (2:46.65)…He was injured during the 2013 outdoor season and did not compete.
High School: Was a four-year state meet qualifier at LaJunta High and ran on two second-place relay teams…Had bests of 50.09 in the 400 and 2:00 in the 800…Also played basketball and soccer.
Personal: Son of Peni Jones…A psychology major who earned all A’s during the fall semester and hjas a 3.721 GPA.
