Biography
She ranks as the best female sprinter in Chadron State history, owning the school records in three indoor and two outdoors events…Health issues have interrupted Monique’s career…That’s why she has one season of outdoor eligibility remaining that she plans to use this spring…As a sophomore in 2011, she set the CSC indoor records in the 60 meters (7.71) and the 200 (24.90) and the outdoor records in the 200 (24.51) and the 400 (57.12)…She placed sixth in the 60 and fifth in the 200 at the RMAC Indoor Meet and was fourth in both the 100 and 200 at the conference’s outdoor meet…Her outdoor best of 11.90 that season is also the second fastest 100 in CSC annals…In 2012, back and compartment syndrome problems in her legs hampered her workouts, but she gave it her best during the indoor season…Her top marks of 7.86 in the 60 was second only to her school record in the event and she ran the 200 in 26.39…Another outstanding accomplishment was in the 400, when she set the school record of 58.54 at the RMAC Indoor Meet even though she was running in pain…The maladies forced her to skip the 2012 outdoor season…In 2013 she was still bothered by injuries, but she was so gritty that she placed eighth in the 400 at the RMAC Outdoor Meet with in 58.82 seconds, fifth best all-time for the Eagles…As a freshman in 2010, Monique finished fifth in both the 100 (12.63) and 200 (25,87) at the RMAC Outdoor Meet…She graduated from John F. Kennedy High in Denver….Daughter of Joe Gonzales and Tracy Fair…Born Aug. 26, 1991…A rangeland management major.
