He was considered one of the Eagles’ all-time greats when he completed his career in 1996.
He usually played center and publicity about him often called him “the center of attention.”
He was a unanimous all-conference choice three times and he earned All-American honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America and the Associated Press his senior season.
When Chadron State nominated players for the RMAC Century Team, he was the third offensive player whose name was submitted, behind only Danny Woodhead and Joe Planansky.
He was named to the CSC All-Century Football Team this year. At 6-foot-2, 290 pounds, Maciejczak was strong and had 5.0-second speed in the 40-yard dash.
The Eagles were 27-6 overall and 17-4 in the RMAC during the three years that he started. They were the RMAC champions and reached the NCAA Division II playoffs his senior year in 1996.
He coaches football at his alma mater, Douglas High School near Rapid City. Previously, he played professional indoor arena football and then coached the sport for 12 years.
His wife, the former Rebecca Quible graduated from CSC in 2000 and teaches in the Douglas Schools. They have two sons, Jerod and Jason.
