He has been involved in basketball ever since graduating from Chadron State in 1966. He was the head coach at Western Wyoming College at Rock Springs, South Dakota Mines in Rapid City and Western State at Gunnison, Colo.  He also was an assistant coach at Earlham College and Utah State, was the head coach of the Rapid City Thrillers and the Topeka Sizzlers in the Continental Basketball Association and the Saskatchewan Storm in the World Basketball League. He also was named Utah’s High School Coach of the Year while coaching at Olympus High in Salt Lake City in 1997. He later was head of the athletic directors in the Granite School District (Salt Lake City) for five years.  In addition, Mike has been a scout for the Milwaukee Bucks, Vancouver Grizzlies, Utah Jazz and Golden State Warriors for a total of 15 years.  This coming season, he will work part-time as an advance scout A native of Whitewater, Ind., Mike and his wife Dolores recently moved from Rapid City to Phoenix.
