A highly-competitive native of Broken Bow  and nicknamed “Cowboy,” Gremm was a two-sport standout at Chadron State. He was a two-time all-NAIA District 11 football selection at offensive guard and earned All-American honorable mention his senior year in 1969. He was strong, quick and aggressive.
Even though he was often significantly outweighed, he was a superb heavyweight wrestler, compiling a 66-12-10 career record. Many of his draws were in battles that he might have lost had it not been for his competitiveness. As a senior, he placed fifth at the NAIA National Tournament to become Chadron State’s first All-American in the sport.
Gremm spent much of his career as a business owner and constructor, initially in Michigan and later in Colorado Springs, where he and his wife, Connie, reside.
