Matthew Kindler showed what tournament wrestling is all about on Saturday at the RMAC Championships. The true freshman from David City, Nebraska, who previously has never been ranked, took third place at the conference tournament. Kindler dropped a 12-5 opening round decision to San Francisco State's Johnathon Costa, who placed fifth at last year's tourney and entered as the third seed this year. He then moved past New Mexico Highlands' Cody Marquez, who placed sixth a year ago and onto the fourth seed Cody Johnson of CSU-Pueblo. Kindler won a 12-7 decision over Johnson in the consolation semis, and moved onto the consolation final where he blanked Costa 6-0 in a rematch of the first round.
