2024 - Jennifer Stadler, a native of Berthoud, Colorado, is entering her sixth season as CSC’s head volleyball coach.
She came to CSC in 2019, and she immediately enjoyed one of the most successful seasons in the school's recent history. The Eagles wrapped up the season with their most wins since 2003, finishing with a 14-12 overall mark and a 8-10 record against RMAC competition. The eight conference wins are the most since 2015.
Multiple school records were broken during the season and multiple players earned conference awards.
In two seasons at CSC, Stadler has coached one All-Region selection and the 2019 Co-Defensive Player of the Year Ashton Burditt, two All-RMAC recipients, and four All-RMAC honorable mentions.
Stadler joined the CSC volleyball staff after eight seasons as the head coach at Sheridan College in Wyoming. At Sheridan since 2011, she led the Generals to the 2017 Region IX North title match, three semifinal appearances, and three consecutive 20-win seasons from 2012 to 2014. Her team’s runner-up finish in 2017 was the program’s highest since 2006
In eight seasons at Sheridan, she coached 14 All-Region players, 18 All-Conference, 13 All-Tournament, one National Player of the Week, and three Liberos of the Year in Region IX North. In addition, 21 players went on to receive scholarships at four-year schools.
Many of Stadler’s volleyball student-athletes not only succeeded on the court but off it as well. Two of her players have earned Academic All-RMAC First Team status, and 15 have appeared on the conference honor rolls. At Sheridan, she graduated 37 players, and helped her student-athletes to 20 Academic All-Region, 13 Academic All-America, and one Student of the Year honor.
Besides coaching volleyball, Stadler wore several other hats at Sheridan. Her other titles included fitness center director, adjunct professor, and assistant athletic director, which she took on four years ago. As an administrator with the Generals athletic department, she had a role in guiding head coaches with rules compliance, assisting fundraising efforts, and admitting international student-athletes.
Stadler’s coaching career began at her alma mater Black Hills State University in 2008, where she won a conference title as an assistant in her first year before moving into a role as Interim Head Coach in 2010. That year, the athletics program at BHSU began its three-year transition into NCAA Division II. She was 13-20 as head coach that season, finishing third in the Dakota Athletic Conference.
In 11 years of head coaching, Stadler carries a career win-loss record of 161-184 at three schools.
Stadler played college volleyball for two seasons at Laramie County Community College, where she was a conference MVP as well as All-Conference, All-Region, and All-Tournament both seasons at setter. She finished in 2007 at BHSU as a two-year starter, and she led her team in digs per game and passing percentage.
She received a bachelor’s degree in human services and sociology from BHSU in 2008, and later earned her master’s degree in strategic leadership while coaching there in 2011.
Stadler has a stepson Landon, 14, a six-year old son Easton, and two-year-old son Kanyon, with her husband, Josh.
Josh Stadler was a football player at BHSU, where CSC Head Football Coach Jay Long was an assistant during his playing seasons. He was the BHSU Rookie of the Year in 2004 and is in the Spearfish High School Hall of Fame.
