Box Score CHADRON – Adams State's Letisha Spencer had 12 kills and Dominique Davis added eight kills and 13 digs to help the No. 24-ranked Grizzlies to a 25-19, 25-20, 25-19 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference victory over Chadron State Saturday at Armstrong Gymnasium.
Adams State (17-4, 10-3 RMAC) led the entire first set but the Eagles tied things up 11 times in the second set before the Grizzlies scored three straight points to escape with the win.
The third set was even closer – it featured 14 ties and five lead changes – but the Grizzles started to pull away and led 24-16. However, the Eagles (4-18, 2-11 RMAC) made things interesting by scoring three straight points while
Justine Ackie was serving.
The Grizzlies, though, put an end to Ackie's strong serving when Deprece Washington hit her eighth kill of the game from a set from Gabriella Rifilato, who finished with a match-high 42.
Mallory Irvine led the Eagles' offense with 11 kills and a .423 hitting percentage. She also had a team-high two blocks.
Mollie Jones added eight kills and
Erika Roybal,
Lexi Hoagland and
Jessica Jester each had five.
Also for CSC, both Ackie and
Alyssa Bauer finished with 13 set assists and
Kristina Harter had a match-high 19 digs.
