No. 16 Colorado Mines upends Chadron State

Box Score GOLDEN, Colo. – Three Colorado School of Mines volleyball players had at least eight kills and the No. 16 Orediggers hit .298 as a team en route to a 25-14, 25-18, 25-16 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference victory over Chadron State Friday at Lockridge Arena.
 
Chadron State, 4-19 overall and 2-12 in the conference, will play a match at Colorado Christian today (Saturday). First serve is set for 7 p.m.
 
On Friday, the Orediggers posted a team hitting percentage of at least .260 in all three sets. Melanie Wannamaker led Colorado Mines (18-5, 12-2 RMAC) with 14 kills and hit .619 and Jackie Stabell added 10 more and hit .400.
 
The Orediggers led wire-to-wire in the first set and the lead only changed hands five times in the second and third sets.
 
The Eagles had a hard time getting their offense in gear. They hit .086 for the match and committed 17 hitting errors and six service errors.
 
Erika Roybal led CSC with nine kills (.292 hitting percentage) and both Mallory Irvine and Jessica Jester had five apiece. Irvine also assisted on five blocks.
 
Also for CSC, Justine Ackie had a team-high 10 digs and 11 assists.
