CHADRON – The Chadron State College men's basketball team will play its final games of 2012 this weekend at Regis and Metro State in a pair of Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference contests.
The Eagles will play at Regis Saturday at 7 p.m. and Metro State Sunday at 5 p.m.
The Regis men (2-4, 1-2 RMAC) toppled the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs 77-67 on Saturday night after being thumped by Pueblo, 82-58.
The top scorer for the Rangers is 6-foot-1 guard Jarrett Green at 11.8 points a game. Kevin Marshall is scoring at a 9.8-point clip, and four more Regis players are averaging at least 8.2 points.
Metro State, which is ranked third in the latest NABC/Division II Top 25 Poll, are averaging 82.3 points and giving up just 61 while owning a 7-0 record.
Four Roadrunner men are averaging in double digits, paced by 6-1 senior Demetrius Miller at 16.4 points. Jonathan Morse, a 6-8 senior, is close behind at 15.3 points while also claiming 9.3 caroms a game.
Morse was the RMAC's Preseason Player of the Year during a vote by the coaches.
The CSC men beat the Roadrunners 65-64 in Denver last February. It was the Eagles' first win over Metro since 1999-2000.
The CSC men are being led by junior
Zac Bargen, who is averaging 18.9 points, second highest in the conference, and 5.5 rebounds. Both
Grant Stone and
Justyn Anderson are averaging between eight and nine points a game.
