CSC women to visit Regis, Metro

CHADRON – The Chadron State College women's basketball team will play two more Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference games in the Denver area this weekend as they play at Regis on Saturday and Metro State Saturday.
 
Chadron State will also play Monday, Dec. 31 at Wayne State in a non-conference game.
 
Saturday's game at Regis will start at 5 p.m. while Sunday's action at Metro will begin at 3.
 
The Regis women are 2-5 overall and 1-2 in the conference. The RMAC win for the Regis women was a 65-62 upset of Metro. The Rangers also have defeated Newman University of Kansas, but lost 61-43 to CSU-Pueblo and 68-54 to Colorado-Colorado Springs last weekend
 
The top scorers for the Rangers are 6-1 senior Sarah Feeney at 12.4 points and 5-10 junior Tae'lor Purdy at 11.4.  The pair has combined to average nearly 13 rebounds a game.
 
The Metro women are 4-4 overall and 2-1 in the RMAC after falling to Regis, but defeating Colorado Springs 62-49 and Pueblo 54-43 last weekend.
 
No one is scoring in double figures for the Lady Roadrunners, but three players are averaging at least nine points, led by 5-10 senior Kristin Velancia at 9.9. She's also picking off 8.6 rebounds a game.
 
Three players are scoring in double figures for the Eagles. Forward Kattie Ranta is averaging 14.4 points and 8.0 rebounds while sophomore guards Dallas Shaw and Kate Simonton are averaging 12.7 and 10.2 points, respectively.
