Wayne State upends Chadron State

Box Score WAYNE, Neb. – Jordan Spencer scored 23 points and added 11 rebounds to lead the No. 19-ranked Wayne State women's basketball team to an 85-47 victory over Chadron State College during their non-conference game on New Year's Eve.
 
The Wildcats, now 7-2 overall, led wire-to-wire and shot over 44 percent from the field (29 for 65) while limiting the Eagles to just 27 percent from the field (16 for 58).
 
Wayne State, which scored 44 points in the paint and 27 more off 25 Chadron State turnovers, scored the first six points of the game and owned a 41-22 lead at halftime.
 
In addition to Spencer, Wayne State's Ellen Hansen scored 19 points and added seven rebounds and Anna Gerdes scored 11 more.
 
Also for the Wildcats, Shantel Lehmann and Ashton Yossi scored nine apiece.
 
Kattie Ranta had her third double double of the season to lead Chadron State, finishing with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
 
Also for Chadron State, Lisa Durden added nine points and Kate Simonton and Greer Babbe seven points.
