CHADRON – Fresh off its first conference victory in over two years, the Chadron State College volleyball team will play another Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference match Saturday at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs.
First serve is set for 5 p.m.
In fact, following Saturday's match, the Eagles will continue playing on the road – CSC opens its season with 13 straight away matches – when they meet Wayne State Tuesday.
Currently, both Colorado Springs and Wayne State are 7-3 for the season. The Mountain Lions swept Wayne, who were 12th in the national rankings at the time, and also upset No. 17 Colorado Mines 3-0 in recent matches.
UCCS is led by some tall seniors. Amy Einspahr, who is 6-foot-3, and Nikki Kinzer, who is 6-2, have .297 and .269 hitting percentages, respectively. Setter Lindsay Stich, who is 6-0, has handed out 223 assists.
Chadron State's middle hitters also pace its offense.
Mallory Irvine has 107 kills and hits .252 and
Jessica Jester has 93 kills.
