Eagles drop two matches in tournament

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SPEARFISH, S.D. – Both Minot State University of North Dakota and Briar Cliff College of Iowa defeated the Chadron State College volleyball team Friday during a tournament hosted by Black Hills State in Spearfish, S.D.

Minot downed CSC in four sets by scores of 25-11, 25-19, 18-25, 25-19.

CSC interim coach Janel Baily said the Eagles got off to a slow start and lacked the level of intensity they needed to win.

Senior outside hitter Mollie Jones led the Eagles with 16 kills and only two hitting errors in 40 opportunities for a .350 percentage.

Middle hitter Mallory Irvine also hit well, posting 12 kills and only four miscues in 33 tries for a .242 percentage.
Irvine and Lexi Hoagland, who had nine kills and just three hitting errors, had four assisted blocks apiece.
