Eagles hosting two matches this weekend

CHADRON – The Chadron State College volleyball team will conclude its recent four-match homestand this weekend by hosting Western New Mexico and New Mexico Highlands in a pair of Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference matches.

The Eagles and Western New Mexico meet Friday at 6 p.m., while CSC hosts New Mexico Highlands Saturday at 4 p.m.

The Mustangs (14-3, 7-2 RMAC) enter Friday's match with plenty of momentum after cruising past Metro State and nationally ranked Regis last weekend. They swept both schools and have won 12-straight sets.

Bobbi Bayer leads Western New Mexico with 194 kills and reigning RMAC Defensive Player of the Week Angelina Pulu has a team-high 260 digs.

New Mexico Highlands (8-10, 2-7 RMAC) had lost five consecutive matches but rebounded Saturday with a three-set sweep over the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs.

Alicia Moreno leads the Cowgirls with 204 kills but Darian Mullen isn't far behind with 186. Jessica Piper is the top defender with 419 digs.

Four CSC attackers – Jessica Jester, Barbie DeCent, Erika Roybal and Hanna Flaming – have at least 99 kills.

Also for CSC, Alyssa Bauer has a team-high 232 digs and Alia Brennan has 45 total blocks.
