Box Score CHADRON – Angelina Pulu had 16 kills and Bobbi Bayer added 11 more to lead the Western New Mexico volleyball team to a 25-20, 25-21, 25-22 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference victory over Chadron State Friday in Armstrong Gymnasium.

Despite the sweep, the Eagles were close to the Mustangs in all three sets, trading the lead during five stretches and tying things up 17 more times.

Pulu led all attackers with 16 kills but Bayer hit .556 and the Western New Mexico offense had a hitting percentage of .246 and added 35 set assists from Alyssa Meihack to improve to 15-3 on the season and 8-2 in the conference.

The Eagles also had a consistent offensive attack.
Nikki Schmidt led Chadron State (3-15, 0-9 RMAC) with nine kills and
Alia Brennan and
Erika Roybal had eight apiece. Roybal also finished with 12 digs and and Brennan had a team-high three blocks.

Also for Chadron State, Alysaa Bauer had a match-high 13 digs and
Justine Ackie and
Mariah Conyers combined to have 37 set assists.

Chadron State will host New Mexico Highlands in a match Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m.
