Evan Brooks scored 24 points and made two free throws with 19 seconds remaining in the second overtime to propel the Chadron State College men's basketball to a 91-88 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference victory over Western State.

The Eagles, now 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the conference, only made three field goals in the two extra sessions but they sank 13 of 16 free throws to earn their first overtime victory since 2009 against Adams State.

Brooks finished shooting nine for 10 from the foul line and he made five 3-pointers en route to his career night. Three others joined Brooks in double figures.
Zac Bargen made 10 of 13 free throws and scored 17 points and
Kendrick Holliman added 10 points before fouling out in the second half. Bargen also had a team-high seven rebounds.

Western State also put four in double figures, led by Mason Biddle's 23 points. Jordan Adams scored 19 points and both Curtis Neely and Jake Braddy added 11 apiece.

The two teams traded the scoring lead nine times and it changed hands seven times. Western State led by as many as 12 points early in the first half but the Eagles cut the deficit to 39-35 at halftime.

Chadron State pushed its lead to 62-53 after a trey from Brooks but the Mountaineers didn't wilt and eventually took a 72-71 lead with 23 seconds remaining in regulation before Brooks calmly sank a free throw to send the game into overtime.

The Eagles had a chance to win the game in the first overtime but Biddle hit a layup with three seconds left to push it to the extra frame.
