Eagles hosting Mountain Lions Saturday

The Chadron State College volleyball team will close out its recent four-game homestand with a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference match Saturday against the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs.

First serve is set for 6 p.m.

The Mountain Lions (5-5, 1-1 RMAC) play at Black Hills State, which defeated Chadron State in four sets Tuesday, on Friday.

First-year head coach Chrissy Elder has the Lions playing well. Last weekend, UCCS split with Colorado Christian and Colorado School of Mines but played 10 sets.

Senior middle blocker Kristen Sciacca is one of the conference leaders in hitting percentage (.411) and setter Grace Gordon averaged nearly 10 assists per set last weekend.

The Eagles (3-8, 0-3 RMAC) have four players with at least 75 kills - Barbie DeCent, Erika Roybal, Hanna Flaming and Jessica Jester - and four others - Alyssa Bauer, Roybal, Justine Ackie and Brittany Oddo - have at least 75 digs.

The Mountain Lions lead the all-time series against Chadron State, 19-9. The Eagles haven't defeated UCCS since the 2004 season.
