Box Score PUEBLO, Colo. – Colorado State University-Pueblo's five starters scored 66 points and the ThunderWolves used a 20-6 second half scoring run to claim a 73-60 victory over Chadron State College Friday evening at Massari Arena.
Pueblo's Katie Nahf sank 10 of 16 shots from the field to finish with a game-high 22 points and five steals but she received plenty of help from the remaining starters. Paige Ramm added 16 points, Alex Evans finished with 11, Taylor Fox scored nine and hauled in 12 rebounds and Jenay Locke chipped in eight points as the ThunderWolves improved to 13-5 overall and 10-2 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
The Eagles, now 3-13 overall and 3-9 in the conference, hung with Pueblo for the first 20 minutes after sinking eight of 14 from 3-point range. Chadron State trailed just 34-31 at intermission, however, the ThunderWolves distanced themselves after opening the second half on 20-4 scoring surge.
Chadron State didn't go away and whittled Pueblo's lead down to 62-57 with three minutes to play but the ThunderWolves outscored CSC 11-3 the rest of the way in sealing their win.
Four Chadron State players scored in double figures.
Dallas Shaw led the Eagles with 16 points, including four treys,
Kattie Ranta scored 12 points and grabbed 11 boards to notch her 11
th double double of the season, and
Kayli Rageth scored 11 points and had seven rebounds.
Also for CSC,
Hattie Guzman made four 3-pointers and finished with 12 points.
Chadron State will play at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs Saturday. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
