Hot shooting Mountain Lions put Eagles under

Box Score COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – UC-Colorado Springs shot an even 50 percent to claim a 92-82 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference victory over Chadron State Saturday at the Gallogly Events Center.
 
Four Mountain Lions reached double figures in the shootout. Alex Welsh led the team with 21 points, Derrick White sank 18, TreShawn Willford reeled in 17, and Dalton Patten added 12 points and 10 rebounds.
 
In the first half, it was an even playing field and the Eagles led 20-17 with ten minutes on the clock. But the Mountain Lions took control of the game as they went on a 13-0 run to end the first half 42-33.
 
UC-Colorado Springs carried out its offensive performance into the second half where they never trailed and lead by as much as 14. The Mountain Lions sank 33 of 41 free throws and forced 10 turnovers.
 
For the Eagles, David Downey scored 14 points, Kendrick Holliman added 13, Evan Brooks charted 11, and Josiah Lee chipped in 10.    
 
UC-Colorado Springs improves to 11-6 overall and 8-5 in the RMAC, while Chadron drops to 7-10 overall and 4-8 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
