Box Score RAPID CITY, S.D. – Chadron State College's volleyball team was defeated by South Dakota School of Mines in a close four-set match Tuesday evening. The Hardrockers took out the visiting Eagles 25-22, 21-25, 25-23 and 25-20.

Chadron State, now 3-20 overall, evened up the match after two sets, but fell to a Mines team that hit .211. The Eagles hit over .200 in both of the sets before the break, but the Hardrockers made adjustments and limited the Eagles to a hitting percentage under .100 in the final two sets.

Three Hardrockers had over 10 kills, led by Samantha Johnson's 13. Mikkella Reese had 12 kills for Mines, while Jena Kreuzer had 11.

The Hardrocker's setter Carsyn Garcia, who had 41 assists, had a match-high four blocks. Kylee Gorngpratum led the team in digs with 22.

Chadron State had one of its best games of the season statistically. Senior
Erika Roybal, who hit .357, and senior
Hanna Flaming both had 14 kills, while
Lelalelei Nomura added eight.
Justine Ackie recorded 32 assists.

Alyssa Bauer had a season-high 30 digs, while
Alia Brennan had three block assists.

Chadron State returns to action Friday against sixth-ranked Colorado School of Mines. The Eagles will also host No. 20-ranked Metro State Saturday. Both matches start at 6 p.m.
