CHADRON – The battle-weary Chadron State College volleyball team will wrap up its home schedule this weekend by hosting two of top teams in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
The Eagles will play Colorado Mines on Friday night and Metro State on Saturday night. Both matches will start at 6 p.m. in the Armstrong Building.
Both Mines and Metro are 13-1 in the RMAC, tying them with Colorado Mesa for the top spot. The next best record is Regis's 9-5 tally.
Overall, Mines is 20-2 and is sixth in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association poll. Metro is 19-3 and is 20
th. Mesa is about half way between them at No. 13.
Prior to Saturday night's action, the Eagles' five seniors will be recognized. They are
Alyssa Bauer,
Hanna Flaming,
Ana Kasljevic,
Brittany Oddo and
Erika Roybal.
A variety of injuries have hit the Eagles hard recently, forcing interim head coach
Chris Wells to make several lineup adjustments.
CSC is 3-20 for the season and 2-12 in the conference. Roybal leads the offense with 208 kills but
Lelalelei Nomura isn't far behind with 187.
Defensively, Bauer has a team-high 394 digs and Oddo has 192.
