CHADRON – Metro State's Lauren Quijano had a match-high 14 kills to lead the No. 20 Metro State University of Denver volleyball team in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference victory over Chadron State College. The Roadrunners won 27-25, 25-17, 25-14.

Metro State's setter Brandi Torr had 36 assists to seven teammates in the win, as well as chipping in 13 digs. Middle hitter Julia Dorsey, who had four block assists, had six kills and a hitting percentage of .455.

Savannah Garcia led all competitors with 23 digs.

Chadron State fought hard in the first set, setting up set-point at 24-23 before Metro tied it up at 24-24. The following point Chadron State committed a rotation error to give Metro the lead, but a Quijano attack was overruled to an error to tie the set back up at 25. However, Metro went on the win the set behind two quick kills from Dorsey.

In the first set, Chadron State outhit Metro .241 to .235, as well as finishing with 19 kills to Metro's 17.

Erika Roybal had a team-high 10 kills while
Lelalelei Nomura had eight. Setter
Justine Ackie, who had two kills, dished out 17 assists.

Chadron State finishes out its season on the road against the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs Friday, Nov 7, at 7 p.m. and Saturday against Regis University at 5 p.m.
