The Chadron State College women's basketball team will visit the No. 12 ranked Wayne State Wildcats on Friday night. Tipoff will be at 6 o'clock (CST).

The Eagles have opened the season with losses to Augustana and Montana State-Billings.

The 12th-ranked Wildcats began their season with a pair of wins at home this past weekend. They initially knocked off Nebraska-Kearney 78-50 and then beat Northwest Missouri State 56-48.

Three players were Wayne State's leading scorers in both games. Ashton Iossi, a 5-8 senior, scored 15 points against Kearney and 20 against Northwest Missouri. Sadie Murren, a 5-8 junior who transferred from UNL this winter, scored 13 points and Jordan Spencer, a 5-11 senior, added 12 in the first game and both tallied 11 points in the second game.

The Wildcats shot 47 percent from the field, including 10 of 26 from 3-point range, against Kearney and connected on 38 percent of their field goal tries and were seven of 16 on treys in the second game. They shot free throws well in both games, making 29 of 36 in the two contests.

Wayne State finished 25-8 a year ago, when Spencer was the team's leading scorer at 16.2 points a game and Iossi ranked second at 11.2.

The Wildcats beat the Eagles 78-59 in Chadron on Nov. 14 last year.
