Balanced scoring leads Eagles to victory over Rangers

Box Score DENVER – Chadron State's men's basketball team got back to their winning ways on Saturday evening with an 86-78 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference victory over Regis University to earn its eighth win of the season.
 
Chadron State (8-11, 5-10 RMAC) trailed 21-20 at the 9:00 mark of the first half, but a 22-9 scoring run put the Eagle back on top 43-29 at the half.  In the second half, the Eagles never trailed and led by as many as 16.
 
For the game, the Eagles forced 13 turnovers and shot 54 percent from the field and limited the Rangers to 47 percent from the field.
 
Four Chadron State players reached double figures on the night including 21 points from senior Zac Bargen. Bargen added eight rebounds and two steals in addition to his offensive performance.
 
Grant Stone and Kendrick Holliman each dropped 13 points. On defense, Grant added six rebounds and Holliman grabbed four.
 
David Downey made six of 14 field goals for 12 points and Kyle Vinich was just shy of double figures with nine points.
 
The Eagles are back at home this Friday and Saturday competing against Western State and Colorado Mesa.
