Chadron State comes up short at Colorado Christian

Box Score DENVER – Chadron State's team scoring output would not be enough for the Eagles as they fell to Colorado Christian 94-74 in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference game Friday.

Colorado Christian's efficient shooting could not be slowed down as the Cougars shot 31 of 54 from the field and topped 90 percent from the foul line in both halves. Leading the Cougar's offenswas Michael Brown with 31 points.

Chadron State started the first half well, but an 11-point Colorado Christian run around the 10 minute mark, set the Cougars up for their hot-shooting night. CCU never let their lead dip below seven points the remainder of the game.

The Eagles cut the lead to eight at the half but the Cougars never let up in the final half where they led by as many as 22 points.

Three Eagles reached double figures in the game. Chris Taylor led the Eagles with 13 points, Kyle Vinich sank 11 and David Downey added 10.

Four more Chadron State players chipped in eight points apiece including Zac Bargen, Evan Brooks, Justyn Anderson and Kendrick Holliman.

Chadron State competes again tomorrow night against Colorado Mines at 7 p.m.
