CSC wrestlers to host Mines, salute Ritzen

The Chadron State College wrestling team will compete against the Dickinson State Blue Hawks Wednesday before hosting Colorado School of Mines in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference dual Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles overwhelmed Dickinson 34-4 at home on Dec. 11, but coach Brett Hunter does not expect things to be as easy this time around.

"A couple of their upper weight people who did not wrestle against us are now near the top of the NAIA national rankings," Hunter said.

The Eagles also will be at home at 2 p.m. Saturday for a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference dual with Colorado Mines.

Both during and after the dual with the Orediggers, long-time CSC head wrestling coach Scott Ritzen will be honored. He retired as the head coach at the end of the 2011-12 season, but is still the chairman of the CSC Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation and a wrestling booster.

Following the dual, Ritzen will be the guest of honor at a reception hosted by the Eagle Booster Club at the Country Kitchen.
