CHADRON, Neb. -- Chadron State College volleyball returns home for good this weekend, after two consecutive weeks on the road.
The Eagles (7-16, 6-9 RMAC) will look to break into the RMAC Tournament, needing to gain one match in the standings in order to do so. A trio of teams are currently tied for the eighth and final playoff spot.
CSC remains at home for their final three matches down the home stretch. They will host South Dakota School of Mines & Technology (7-18, 3-12 RMAC) on Friday evening at 7 p.m., with Black HIlls State University (7-16, 4-11 RMAC) visiting on Saturday at 7 p.m.
SDSM&T comes into Chadron following a tough weekend in Rapid City, where they dropped a pair of matches to Colorado Mesa and Westminster and fell out of postseason consideration. The Hardrockers hosted Chadron State on October 10, coming up with a 3-2 win.
BHSU likewise hosted the Mavericks and Griffins last weekend, taking a couple of losses in the process. The Yellow Jackets do defense very well, ranking second in the conference for digs and fourth for blocks. Defensive specialist Lacy Stevens averages 5.14 digs per set to rank second in the RMAC individually. Black Hills State also defeated CSC 3-2, on October 9.
If the Eagles can even the season series with their two opponents this weekend, they will remain in the hunt for postseason play entering the season finale next Saturday.
