COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Chadron State College men's basketball team fell to No. 20-ranked University of Colorado-Colorado Springs, 86-80, in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference game in Colorado Springs.

The Eagles (7-17, 6-14 RMAC) and Mountain Lions (21-4, 15-4 RMAC) traded leads for the first 15 minutes, tying up the game 34-34, before UCCS went on an 8-4 run to end the half up 41-38.

Out of the break, UCCS pushed its lead to 14, 56-42. The Eagles would claw back into the game, down five with 1:28 left on clock, but UCCS' Alex Koehler would hit four shots from the line to finish the game.

Five Eagles scored in double-digits, led by
Sharif Black, who was 4-for-5 from the field, and
Evan Brooks with 13 each.
Christopher Smith scored 12, while
Roderick Butler added 11 and
Josiah Lee had 10. Â

Defensively,
Davante McCallam tore down eight boards, while Black had seven.

For the Mountain Lions, Derrick White led all scorers with 26 points, sinking 11 of 14 from the line. White also dished out six assists. Alex Welsh and Darius Pardner both had 16, while White and TreShawn Wilford tore down seven and six rebounds respectively.

Chadron State outshot Colorado Springs, 50 percent to 40 percent, including 53 percent from beyond the arc.
