SPEARFISH, S.D. – Chadron State College women's basketball team lost its final game of the season to Black Hills State University, 86-71, Saturday evening in Spearfish, South Dakota.

The Eagles (8-18, 8-14 RMAC) took command of the game after going on an early 15-4 run, leading the Yellow Jackets 19 to 11. BHSU came back to tie up the game at 32 a piece at half. After the break, Black Hills (15-11, 13-9 RMAC) went on a 16-4 run to take a 10 point lead, pushing the gap to as much as 17 points in the half.

Chadron State's
Stephanie Knowles had a team-high 17 points, shooting 7-for-10 from the field. Knowles was one board shy of a double-double, nabbing nine rebounds as well as leading the team with three assists, a pair of steals and a block.

Three other Eagles scored in double-digits.
Maka Daysh had a dozen points, while
Kate Simonton and
Emma Block both added 10 points.

Black Hills' Cassidy Kotelman was the game's leading scorer with 18 points. Four other Yellow Jackets hit double-digits in scoring. Logan Cowan, Chelsey Biegler and Bailey Kusser had 13 points each, while Taylor Trohkimoinen chipped in 11.

Biegler racked up stats for BHSU, ending the game one board shy of a double-double with nine, as well as leading the team with five assists and five steals.

CSC dominated the paint throughout the game, outscoring BHSU 32-24. Black Hills outscored Chadron State in points off of turnovers, 25-11, and in second chance points, 11-7.
