CHADRON, Neb. -- November 11, 2016 -- Despite some bright moments, Chadron State College volleyball was unable to keep a steady rhythm throughout the night, falling 3-1 (20-25, 25-22, 16-25, 26-28) to Colorado Christian University Friday evening in Chicoine Center.
The visiting Cougars landed 10 service aces and outhit the Eagles .262 to .173 to conclude their season 20-12 (12-6 RMAC) and presumably host a first-round Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference tournament match as a top-four seed.
The Eagles fall to 7-19 (6-11 RMAC) entering their season finale with No. 22 Colorado Mines Saturday at 6 p.m.
Three Eagles -
Alia Brennan,
Rudy Leasau, and
Gaby Varela each finished with 13 kills apiece. Varela dealt three service aces and Leasau had two solo blocks and two assisted blocks to tie for the team lead in points scored.
Saturday night the team's three seniors - Brennan, Leasau, and
Stephanie Wilson - will be honored.
