CHADRON, Neb. -- January 26, 2017 -- The Chadron State College wrestling team will try to keep its unblemished record against Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference rivals intact when it visits New Mexico Highlands on Thursday night and Adams State on Friday night for duals.
The Eagles have a 5-1 dual record and are 4-0 against RMAC rivals. They were ranked No. 15 in the coaches' dual rankings which circulated Thursday among NCAA Division II wrestling coaches.
Three of the conference victories have been nail-biters.
The Eagles edged Colorado Mesa on criteria after both teams scored 20 points. CSC also shaded Cal Baptist 21-20 and Western State 18-17 in RMAC duals. In all three duals, each team won five matches, but the Eagles had the only pin in the Mesa matchup and scored one more bonus point in the remaining two.
Highlands has a 1-2 record in conference duals and Adams State is 0-3.
The Division II individual rankings released this week include three Chadron State wrestlers.
Brandon Kile is 12th at 125 pounds,
Taylor Summers is ninth at 133 and
Chance Helmick is eighth at 174. Helmick leads the nation in pins, with 11 so far this season.
