Nineteen-point run by Regis sinks CSC women

DENVER -- February 14, 2017 -- Bolstered by a 19-point swing starting at the end of the first quarter through mid-second, Regis University downed Chadron State College 79-56 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference women's basketball Tuesday evening.

Chadron State went more than seven minutes without a field goal of any kind during that stretch, which was broken up by a McKenna McClintic field goal with 4:17 left in the first half, as the Rangers won the second quarter 23-6.

The Eagles seemed to have righted the ship coming out of halftime down 45-25, as Kalli Feddersen and Erin Graham each had three-point plays in the opening minutes and Maddie Metzger hit back-to-back threes. However, the 13-point margin at 50-37 midway through three periods was the closest CSC would get the rest of the way.

Regis dominated on the glass 38-18, however the total field goal attempts for each team evened out at 52 apiece and CSC came out ahead in foul shots. From the free throw line, both teams shot exceptionally with CSC shooting 12-of-14 and the Rangers sinking 11 of 12.

Feddersen led both teams with 16 points, while Regis's Majestie Robinson was 4-of-5 overall and 3-for-3 from three, to go with four foul shots on four attempts to finish with a team-high 15 points.

Graham had 12 points for the Eagles, and led her team with six rebounds. Maddie Metzger recorded 13 points, which was the second-best total of her four-year career at CSC.

Chadron State will enjoy a weekend off before finishing the season at home February 24 and 25.
