CHADRON, Neb. -- January 23, 2018 -- The Chadron State College wrestling team will wrap up its meager home schedule for the season this weekend by hosting New Mexico Highlands on Wednesday and Adams State on Friday night.
Wednesday, the match will begin with a special presentation for Faculty/Staff Appreciation Night, while the Friday evening match has been dubbed "Blackout Night" by the team.
Both matches will begin at 6 p.m., but the first will be in the Nelson Physical Activity Center and the second in the Chicoine Center because the high school indoor track and field meet that the Eagles annually host in January will be in the PAC on Saturday.
Coach
Brett Hunter said both of the visiting teams are scrappy and will undoubtedly give the Eagles about all they can handle.
New Mexico Highlands is unranked at 1-4 in duals, but carries four seniors in its projected lineup. The Eagles have none.
Adams State comes in at No. 21 nationally, despite an overall 1-7 record, and the Grizzlies boast the No. 7 ranked 125-pounder, Darek Huff, and the nation's fifth-ranked wrestler, Natrelle Demison, at 149 pounds.
CSC nipped both teams on the road last year. The scores were 19-17 at Highlands and 21-18 at Adams State.
CSC is 2-4 in duals so far this season.Â
