CHADRON, Neb. -- After finishing 1-1 against its conference rivals last weekend, the Chadron State College volleyball team travels to Denver to face its travel partner, Metropolitan State University this Thursday and Friday in the season finale.
 
Last weekend, against South Dakota School of Mines and Black Hills State, libero Ashton Burditt tied the school record for digs in a match, with 36, and average of 7.88 per set. The weekend dropped the Eagles record to 8-17 overall and 6-10 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
 
The Roadrunners of Metro State boast a 17-8 record and are 13-3 in the RMAC, ranking them fourth. Last weekend, they swept both Black Hills State and South Dakota School of Mines. In conference play, the Roadrunners have fell to Regis in five sets, Colorado Mesa defeated them in three sets and Colorado Mines won in four.
 
Two different individuals lead the Roadrunners offensively at the net. Taylor Duryea has 298 kills on the season, an average of 3.39 per set, while Santaisha Sturges has 269.
 
Jessa Megenhardt leads the team with 432 assists, but two other individuals also have over 180 assists on the season. Morgan Weather averages 5.7 assists per set with 342 and Mikaela Kubiak has 189 assists, an average of 5.73 per set.
 
Duryea also leads the team in service aces, with 25.
 
Defensively, Alyssa Kelling and Stephanie Laraway have 85 and 76 blocks on the season, respectively. Lyric Hebert leads MSU-Denver with 350 digs and Sturges is second the team with 276.
 
Last season, the Roadrunners defeated the Eagles in four sets.
 
First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m., on both Thursday and Friday.
