The Chadron State College volleyball team will open its home schedule this weekend by hosting Regis University of Denver on Friday and Colorado Christian of Lakewood, Colorado, on Saturday. Both matches begin at 6 p.m.

Regis, the defending Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Co-Champions, enter this week with a 5-5 overall record and 1-1 in the RMAC. The Rangers fell to Colorado School of Mines in five sets and defeated the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in four.

Colorado Christian is 3-8 overall and also 1-1 in the conference. The Cougars had identical results to Regis last weekend, after beating UCCS in four sets and losing to Colorado School of Mines in five.

Regis, the preseason favorite to win the RMAC, is currently ranked 21st
 in the nation, with victories against the preseason seventh and 12
th ranked teams.

The Rangers are led by 6-4 middle hitter Nikki Kennedy, the Conference Preseason Defensive Player of the Year and Player of the Year. Kennedy leads the RMAC in blocks with 52.

Colorado Christians' Kylee Wurster, a 5-9 senior, was named the Preseason Setter of the Year for the second straight season. She is fourth in the RMAC with 444 assists.

The Rangers and Cougars met for the second time this season yesterday. Regis earned the victory in four sets two weeks ago and swept the Cougars last night.Â

The Eagles will enter this weekend with a 2-8 record. They fell to Fort Lewis in four sets and Adams State in three during their opening weekend of conference play.

Riann Mullis said the team needs to work on consistency. The Eagles won their first set last weekend against Fort Lewis, in which Mullis said was the best they have played all season, but went on to lose the next three.
