CHADRON, Neb. -- January 18, 2019 -- Chadron State College wrestling celebrated its Senior Day on Friday, in front of a pumped-up crowd in the Nelson Physical Activity Center, its home facility. The Eagles were not able to close the home dual season with a win, however, as Western Colorado won 6 of 10 weight classes, cruising to a 34-12 victory.

Brandon Kile, Chase Clasen, Wade French, and Rulon Taylor all remained consistent for CSC on the week, going 2-0 in the pair of duals hosted by the Eagles. All four scored decisions over their opponents.

The Mountaineers, however, won all six of their bouts in five or six-point fashion. Western Colorado got wins by fall at 141, 157, and 174 pounds. No. 1-ranked Brandon Supernaw's pin at 174 pounds put the match out of reach for the Eagles, whose wins by French and Taylor at 197 and 285 pounds, respectively, could not erase a 28-point deficit.

Western Colorado wrestlers also won by technical fall at 165 and 184 pounds. They received six points by forfeit earlier, at 125.

Seniors Aspen Naylor, of Syracuse, Utah; Johnny Porter, of Bellevue Nebraska; Heber Shepherd, of Spanish Fork, Utah; Rulon Taylor, of Curtis, Nebraska; and Brock Thumm, of Watervliet, Michigan, were all honored in a ceremony prior to the match.

Chadron State is now 3-6, and 2-5 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, with one non-conference dual at Western Wyoming College remaining on January 25. WCU improved to 8-2 (3-1 RMAC).
