CHADRON, Neb. -- After splitting last weekend, CSC volleyball hits the road again today, this time to face Colorado School of Mines and UCCS. Friday's match against Mines starts at 7 p.m., in Golden, Colorado, while Saturday's match in Colorado Springs starts at 5 p.m.
Colorado Mines is currently ranked 5
th in the RMAC with 10-11 overall record and 8-5 conference record. UCCS is on the brink of the top eight while sitting 9th. The Mountain Lions are 9-12 overall and 7-6 in the RMAC.
CSC, who is 13-7 overall and 7-5 in conference play, is ranked 7
th.
The Orediggers are led offensively by Abby Tiesman, who has 285 kills on the season. Tiesman averages 3.85 kills per set and has hit .402 on the season. Setter Drew Stokes leads the nation with 12.34 assists per set. She has 901 total assists on the season.
Tiesman leads Colorado Mines with 78 blocks, while Elle Duis has a team high 320 digs.
CSC and Colorado Mines both lost to Dixie State in five sets, but the Eagles defeated South Dakota Mines in five sets while the Orediggers lost in five sets and CSC lost in three sets to CSU-Pueblo, while Colorado Mines swept them.
The UCCS Mountain Lions are balanced offensively, having four different players with over 150 kills. Grace Nelson leads the team with 178, an average of 2.83 per set and attack percentage of .324.
Emily Ettel leads the team with 468 assists, while Raelynn Edge has 356.
Defensively, Jordyn Kinsey leads UCCS with 322 digs, an average of 4.08. Josie Russell has a team high 54 blocks, followed by Lauren Brown with 50.
The Mountain Lions are 2-0 on the season against Colorado Christian, who swept the Eagles earlier in the season. CSC defeated Black Hills State in five sets, while UCCS lost to the Yellowjackets in four.
