CHADRON, Neb. -- With potential playoff hopes on the line, the Chadron State College volleyball team hosts MSU-Denver for a two-day double-header this weekend.
Â
The two teams will meet Thursday and Friday at 6 p.m., with Friday being senior day.
Â
The Roadrunners are ranked second in the RMAC with a 19-6 overall record and are 14-2 in conference play. CSC is 14-10 overall and 8-8 in the RMAC.
Â
Chadron State is currently 8
th in the conference, one spot ahead of UCCS. The Mountain Lions are 8-9 in the RMAC and have one match remaining, against Colorado Mines, who defeated the Mountain Lions in three sets earlier this season.
Â
With two wins this week, CSC would be guaranteed a spot in the RMAC Tourney for the first time since 2003. If the Eagles defeat the Roadrunners once this weekend and UCCS loses, Chadron State would still earn the eighth seed.
Â
If the Eagles lose both and the Mountain Lions lose, or CSC wins one and UCCS wins, UCCS owns the tiebreaker after defeating the Eagles in five sets two weekends ago.
Â
Finally, if there are more than two teams time for the eighth and final spot, RMAC criteria will be used to determine the final playoff spot.
Â
MSU-Denver is led offensively by Kayla White who has 255 kills on the season. Avaline Lai is second with 213 kills and has an attack percentage of .323.
Â
Two different players have over 450 assists for the Roadrunners, led by Joli Sadler with 486 and Jessa Megenhardt with 479.
Â
Caiden Rexius has a team high 328 digs for MSU-Denver and Alyssa Kelling has 102 blocks.
Â
The Roadrunners two conference losses are to Colorado Mines in five sets and Regis in three.
Â
Friday is senior night, as
Ashton Burditt,
Timmi Keisel,
Kelly Murphy,
Shelby Schouten and
Katie Thoeny will be honored for the Eagles. Fans are asked to arrive early to take in the festivities.
