CHADRON, Neb. -- November 30, 2019 -- The men's basketball game previously scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday, between Chadron State College and Presentation College, at the Chicoine Center in Chadron, will be postponed until Sunday at 1 p.m., according to CSC Athletic Director Joel Smith.
Weather conditions Saturday morning made travel inadvisable for the visiting team, which remained in Rapid City, South Dakota Friday night, following its Friday contest at South Dakota School of Mines & Technology.
The Saints were to remain in Rapid City until Sunday morning, when road conditions are expected to be more satisfactory.
Both teams have struggled, early in the season, after playing the majority of their games on the road.Â
The Eagles have been in contention in all five of their early matchups, but haven't been able to pull wins out down the stretch.Â
Turnovers have been a major problem for the Eagles. They've made 118 while the opponents have committed 75. That has helped the opponents take 61 more shots from the field.  Chadron State is shooting 45 percent from the field compared to the foes' 41.4 percent, but the additional shots been enough to allow the hosts to outscore the Eagles in all five contests.
Meanwhile, although the Saints were 21-10 last season, they are just 2-9 this year following Friday's game in Rapid City, which they lost 102-49. Presentation had been outscored an average of 91 to 70 points per game, the last time NAIA statistics were updated.     Â
The game Sunday is the home opener for the Eagles.
