CHADRON, Neb. -- The Chadron State College volleyball team returns home to face the South Dakota teams, as the race to get into the RMAC Tournament gets tighter this weekend.

The Eagles, who are 7-7 in conference play, are currently ninth in the standings, while Black Hills is sixth at 9-6 and South Dakota Mines is tied at 10
th with a conference record of 6-9.

Chadron State defeated both South Dakota squads in five sets earlier this season.

Friday's opponent, the Yellow Jackets, are led by Madison Hoopman and Sierra Ward offensively. Hoopman has 236 kills on the season, while Ward has 219. Setter Laurel Lech has 536 assists this season.

Defensively, libero Haedyn Rhoades leads Black Hills with 502 digs, an average of 5.46 per set. Peyton Bodemann has a team high 81 blocks.

The Hardrockers and Eagles have faced twice already this season, once before conference play started. CSC won both meetings in five sets.

Dana Thomson leads South Dakota Mines with 418 kills and an average of 4.31 per set. She ranks first in the RMAC in both categories. She's first in the nation in kills and eighth in kills per set. Setter Shyann Bastian has 663 assists this season.

Defensively, Anna Thomas has 550 digs to lead the Hardrockers and the RMAC. Jacey Koethe has accounted for 91 blocks, 10 being solo.

Friday is "Black Out BH" and Girl Scout and CDC night in the Chicoine Center. Fans are asked to wear black and the team will be handing out autographs following the match.

Saturday is "Military and Service Appreciation Day". Free entry will be granted to current U.S. Military Members, Veterans and First Responders with a valid ID.
