Box Score DENVER, Colo. -- October 22, 2021 -- The Chadron State College volleyball team (4-15, 2-10 RMAC) was swept 25-16, 25-12, and 25-10 by the Regis Rangers (15-4, 10-1 RMAC) Friday night in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference showdown.
The Rangers' offensive attack proved to be too powerful for the Eagles to endure, coming away with 49 kills and only 10 errors out of 96 total attempts to give them a team hitting percentage of .406.
Regis' defense also came to play. They held CSC to only 21 kills out of 91 total attempts. They also prevented the Eagles from landing any service aces, which is something no other team this season has accomplished against Chadron State.
The best set of the night for the Eagles was set one when they scored 10 kills and four errors. Freshmen Audrey Bennett and Aiyana Fujiyama each landed a kill and a block assist. Hitters Alli Keisel, Rylee Greiman, and Olivia Moten-Schell landed two kills apiece.
Sets two and three were not as promising as set one. The Rangers' defense held the Eagles to 12 points and 10 respectively, letting their offense take control of the rest of the match. In set three, Regis went on a 10-point streak and an eight-point streak to ice the game.
The next two weekends for the Eagles will be home matches against RMAC opponents.
