RAPID CITY, S.D. -- November 13, 2021 -- The Chadron State College volleyball team (5-19, 3-14 RMAC) was swept 25-21, 25-13, and 25-17 Friday night by longtime Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference rival South Dakota Mines (12-13, 6-11 RMAC). 

The Eagles committed eight errors in the first set, six in the second, and seven in the third for a total of 21 errors compared to the Hardrockers' 10.  

Set one featured the Eagles' best performance of the night. They landed 17 kills out of 53 total attempts for a hitting percentage of .170. Outside hitter Amelia Berg was the Eagles' best performer, putting up seven kills and only two attack errors during the set. 

CSC was unable to get anything going in set two as the Hardrockers jumped out to an 11-1 lead. Though the Eagles went on a 7-1 run to try to make a comeback, which featured kills by Amber Harvey and service aces by Rylee Greiman and Audrey Bennett, it was not enough to overcome the Hardrockers' lead. 

Mines started set three with a commanding 8-3 lead over the Eagles. The Eagles' offense was again unable to stage a comeback as the Hardrockers held the lead for the duration of the set.  

Setter Audrey Bennett was the Eagles' best player of the night. She produced 16 assists and 12 digs, making it the fifth match of the season where she recorded a double-double. 

The Eagles will travel an hour north on Saturday to face the Black Hills State Yellow Jackets (7-18, 4-13 RMAC) in their final match of the season.
