Volleyball drops two matches in Salt Lake City

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Mar. 1 – The Chadron State College women's volleyball team had two matches on Monday, one against Western Colorado University and one against Westminster College.
 
The Eagles were unsuccessful against the Mountaineers in four sets, winning the first set and dropping the rest, 20-25, 25-18, 25-23, 25-7. They also fell to the Griffins in three sets, 25-14, 25-6, 27-25.  
 
Jordyn Todd of Western Colorado led the way for her team, scoring 22.5 points and getting 20 kills. Hanna Hendrickson and Caroline Parker each had 12 points, Parker with 11 kills and Hendrickson with 10.
 
Elizabeth Koch and Savanna Meyer each had six total blocks and Kaia Ghosh had 22 digs in the win on Monday against the Eagles.
 
CSC's Lexi Hurtado and Rylee Greiman each had eight kills in the match, while Hurtado also managed two service aces. Olivia Moten-Schell had seven kills and two assists, earning her nine and a half points.
 
Breshawna Kelly had 21 assists, the most of any Eagle.
 
Seniors Chandler Hageman and Karli Noble, as well as freshman Rhiannon Nez were leaders on defense. Hageman and Nez each had eight total blocks and Noble had 16 digs.
 
In match two, Greiman had seven kills while Hurtado and Moten-Schell had five each. Noble recorded two more service aces and 17 digs and Kelly managed 15 assists.
 
For Westminster, Katie Jacox had six service aces and 11 digs, leading her team with 12.5 points. Malinda Messner, Audrey Green, and Lydia Miller all had nine kills against the Eagles with Avery Alger at eight.
 
Bri Mortenson assisted 33 times in the match, more than doubling any Eagle's effort.
 
On defense, Holland Vande Merwe had 18 digs.
 
The next time the Eagles see action will be in Golden, Colo. where they will first face Adams State on Sunday, Mar. 7 at 2 P.M. and then Colorado School of Mines at 5 P.M.
