OKLAHOMA CITY – February 18, 2022 – The Chadron State College softball team lost a pair of contests on the first day of the second week of the Edmond Regional Festival in the Oklahoma City area on Friday.

In the morning game at Southern Nazarene, the Eagles gave up a walk and a hit-by-pitch, then a defensive error, as the Crimson Storm built up a 3-0 lead in the first.

J'lyssa Martinez had an RBI single in the first to make it 3-1 Storm.

SNU got four more runs in the fifth, with five hits and two steals. Two of its hits were home runs.

CSC took four runs back in the top of the fifth, when it slapped out five base hits and took one walk.

The score was 9-5, in favor of SNU, when CSC scored two runs in the top of the seventh but couldn't complete the comeback.

In the afternoon game against Central Oklahoma, the Eagles went scoreless in five innings.

Meanwhile, the Bronchos scored in the first, third, fourth, and fifth innings to bulid an 8-0 lead and win in five innings.

Southern Nazarene improved to 2-8 in the morning game. Jennifer Romero-Ivarson earned a pitching win to go to 1-3.

Pitcher Peyton Propp went to 0-2 individually in the morning game.

The loss to UCO made CSC 0-7 and pitcher Tia Kohl 0-5.

Terin Cox advanced to 3-1 for UCO, individually. UCO improved to 9-2.
