CSC Men Best Highlands Cowboys in Dual
The Chadron State College men's wrestlers won eight of the 10 matches during a dual hosted by New Mexico Highlands on Saturday. The Eagles won by a 31-10 score.
The Eagles earned bonus points in half of their victories. Heavyweight Mason Watt wrapped up the dual with a pin. Quen Campbell scored a 21-4 technical fall at 133 pounds. Also, both Ethan Leake at 141 and Keegan Gehlhausen at 184 won by major decisions of 9-1 and 13-2, respectively.
The other Chadron State winners posted regular decisions, each worth three points in the team results. They are Quad Smith at 125 pounds, Brandon Paredes at 149, and Rowdy Pfeil at 174. Â
Now 4-5 in duals for the season, the Eagles will host Colorado Mesa in a dual starting at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Chicoine Center and enter the Midwest Duals at Kearney on Saturday, Jan. 21. Â
The Mesa Mavericks are 3-4 in duals this winter. They have won over San Francisco State 28-11, Ashland University 38-6 and Augustana of South Dakota 20-19, and lost to Menlo, a California school, 22-18, Western Colorado 27-9 and West Liberty of West Virginia and Fort Hays State, both by 20-19 scores.
