Volleyball hosts Westminster on Saturday

CHADRON, Neb. -- The Chadron State College volleyball team will host its annual alumni game this Saturday at 4 p.m., when they host Westminster University in the Chicoine Center.

CSC volleyball alumni that are in attendance will be recognized between sets two and three.

Chadron State is 11-8 overall and 5-4 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while Westminster is 7-12 overall and 4-5 in the RMAC. The Eagles are currently sixth in the RMAC standings and the Griffins are eighth.

The Griffins four conference wins have occurred against Western Colorado, Colorado School of Mines, Adams State and UCCS.

Following Saturday's matchup, CSC only has four conference matches remaining. They are against Colorado Christian, Black Hills State, South Dakota Mines and New Mexico Highlands, all teams ranked lower than CSC in the standings. Next weekends matches against Highlands and Adams State do not count towards conference records.

If the Eagles remain in the top eight and earn a berth to the RMAC Playoffs, it will be the first time since 2003.

The Griffins four conference wins have occurred against Western Colorado, Colorado School of Mines, Adams State and UCCS.

Offensively, they are led by a trio of Griffins who have over 100 kills this season. Olivia Curtis leads the group with 159 kills, an average of 2.45. Regan Jackson has 138 and Mailei Myers has 121. Myers leads the team with an attack percentage of .348.
