CHADRON, Neb. -- May 30, 2023 -- Chadron State College athletics will host a variety of youth camps from May through July, led by its head coaches and players.
Day camps are available for youth as young as kindergarten-age, and overnight camps are offered, with room and board included for high schoolers and middle schoolers in some sports.
First is the boys' basketball "Kid's Camp" which began today and runs through June 2
nd for boys entering grade K-8th.
Chadron State's wrestling team camp for grades 7-12 is June 19-22 and has recently hosted upwards of 500 campers. During last year's 23
rd annual running of the event, over 450 wrestlers from 30 different teams attended.
Hundreds of high school football players are set to attend one of three team camp sessions in June. This year teams will have the option of registering for a reduced-price, three-day camp, or coming one day earlier for the typical four-day session including additional offensive emphasis, extra practices, a coaches' clinic, and meals and room accommodations for one more day. Eleven-man camps are scheduled for June 4-7 and June 8-11, while the June 12-15 session will cater to the six, eight, and nine-man players.
Chadron State football will also hold an "Eagle Prospect Camp", open to high schoolers interested in becoming NCAA Division II student-athletes. It includes combine-style testing, full-contact competition, and it concludes with a forum with coaches on the college recruiting process. The Prospect Camps will be held on July 16 and July 22.
The CSC women's basketball program has four camps this year, beginning June 7-8 with an Elementary Camp. The four women's basketball camps will all run consecutively. A Development Camp for girls in grades 4-12 will be on June 9-10. On June 11, an Advanced Camp for grades 6-12 will be held, before a high school team camp on June 12-13.
Concluding the June camp schedule is a "Junior Golf Camp", hosted by the CSC Women's Golf Team on June 27-29. The camp is open for boys and girls in grades K-12 and runs from 9 am to 12 pm each day at the Ridgeview Country Club.
Finally, in July, CSC volleyball will host five different camps. First, a high school individual camp will be July 6-7, followed by a high school team camp on the 7-9. Following the two high school camps, a middle school skills camp will be on July 10-11. The camps that will be held in the Chicoine Center conclude on July 12-13 with a Youth Volleyball Skills Camp.
Softball has the final CSC athletic camp of the summer on July 25. It is a high school prospect camp.Â
